RAHIM YAR KHAN: In a joint operation, the Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur police assassinated Shahid Lund on Friday. Dacoit Shahid Lund, a YouTuber with a Rs10 million bounty on his head, was the dreaded leader of the Lund gang, which operated in the Katcha region along the Indus River.
Dr. Usman Anwar, the head of Punjab police, praised the operation as a major success and reiterated the region’s resolve to rid it of terrorists and gangsters.
Locals in the Bangla Ichha neighborhood, where the gang had gathered to resolve internal conflicts, claimed that Shahid Lund’s close relative Umar Lund murdered him following a furious confrontation. They asserted that Shahid’s associates later killed Umar.
According to a Punjab police statement, 28 crimes including police officer murders, robberies, kidnappings for ransom, and acts of terrorism involved Shahid Lund.
In dacoit circles, Shahid Lund was also well-known for being a popular YouTuber and TikToker with a sizable online following.
IGP Anwar stated that the people of Rahim Yar Khan and Rajanpur were constantly in danger from Shahid Lund. In order to guarantee the operation’s success, he added, the police had carefully prepared it over the previous two months.
