Ms. Rachel underlines the need of supporting global action to fight hunger
Using her platform, beloved content producer Rachel Accurso known millions as Ms. Rachel has exposed a sobering reality: food poverty affects millions of children worldwide. By going beyond the screen with her incredible YouTube channel serving young viewers, Ms. Rachel is advocating children in great need and so creating demand for global support.
The Stark Reality: world market demand
Ms. Rachel drew attention in a poignant Instagram post on the shockingly high rates of food poverty in Mali, Gaza, Sudan, and Haiti.
Gaza: About ninety percent of the population suffers extreme food poverty. Under two years old, one in three young children in northern Gaza suffer with acute malnutrition.
Sudan: Constant conflict has thrown the nation into the largest hunger crisis in the world; over 25 million people suffer from extreme hunger here. Furthermore confirmed in Zamzam Camp, the home of hundreds of thousands of displaced people, is famine.
Still suffering much from systematic poverty and instability, Haiti and Mali aggravate hunger issues even more.
“Is not right that children not have food”
The poignant remarks of Accurso really speak to me: “It’s not right that children lack food. We have to get better for our priceless earthly children. She urged her supporters to think about the suffering these children go through and to act in ways meant to bring about change.
The star underlined that change is possible even if world poverty would seem to be an unreachable barrier. She called the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) a weapon of great power for reducing poverty in affected countries.
Possible Ways of helping out children
Ms. Rachel asked her neighbourhood to assist and so show the value of even small deeds by forwarding a link to the WFP projects. People can offer those trying to survive a lifeline by means of partnerships with respectable businesses.
Given her position, Ms. Rachel has not only brought past but also present humanitarian issues under attention. She started a campaign in May for children in Gaza, Ukraine, and Sudan in almost $50,000 a few hours. Despite criticism on excluding all areas, Ms. Rachel has stayed strong in her goal to uplifting children living in appalling conditions.
“It’s about doing what’s right for the children who need us the most,” she said in a teary-eyed video response to online comments.
From Ms. Rachel’s vantage point, group action and empathy are first needs for the battle against hunger. Her projects underline the need of using influence for good and remind us that every little gift can inspire a child in need.
See the United Nations World Food Program to find out how you might right now contribute to the fight against world poverty. Combined, we can make sure none of the kids go to sleep hungry.
