Tragedy on Neelah-Dullah Interchange at Islamabad-Lahore Motorway Accident
A tragic road accident on Islamabad-Lahore Motorway near the Neelah-Dullah Interchange has placed the nation into mourning. A passenger bus, identified as Gulab Coach, skidded off the boulevard and into a ditch, killing eight passengers and injuring forty one others. The fatal mishap occurred on Friday at approximately 12:30 PM when the bus from Swat heading to Karachi lost control near Bhagwal Bridge.
The Catastrophic Journey Turned Fatal
Witnesses and officials have blamed the accident on the negligence of the driver at a steep turn. SHO of the Neelah Police Station, Sohaib Zaffar, determined that the bus skidded before tumbling into a six to seven ft deep ditch. Rescue response teams, including Rescue 1122 and police officials led by Assistant Superintendent of Police Sarah Hashmi, arrived at the spot to provide on the spot assistance.

Among those killed were men and women of Swat, whose families are now left in shambles. The victims have been identified as:

Mohammad Yar (70)
Unfortunately, one of the drivers of the bus, Subhan Allah, passed away on the spot, while the other driver, Wajid, survived and remains on the run.
Medical Issues and Emergency Response
Victims have been admitted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Chakwal, with 5 of them seriously hurt passengers subsequently transferred to Rawalpindi because DHQ lacks neurosurgical facilities. Questions have been raised regarding the insufficiency of emergency clinical guidelines since different victims of severe head injuries had initially been taken to a clinic incapable of dealing with such victims.
