    Pakistan Launches Karachi–Chabahar Ferry Service

Pakistan’s starting a Chabahar Ferry Service for Country’s Ocean-Based Economy

Pakistan just kicked off a cool maritime project, opening a new ferry terminal at Karachi Port. The Minister of Maritime Affairs said it’s a huge deal that will boost coastal tourism, connect us better with the region, and help the ocean environment.

Basically, Pakistan is trying to use its coast better for transport.

    Karachi–Chabahar Ferry: Pakistan’s First Ever!

The biggest announcement? Pakistan is starting its first international ferry route, connecting Karachi to Chabahar Port in Iran. Officials say it should begin in the third week of January.

The ferry can hold around 240 people and the trip will take about 12-14 hours. It’ll run three times a week and a round-trip ticket will cost around Rs 50,000.

This should really improve people traveling between Pakistan and Iran, building better relationships.

    Boosting Pakistan’s Ocean Economy Plan

The Minister said the ferry service fits into the Prime Minister’s plan to get more out of Pakistan’s ocean resources. Instead of just shipping cargo, the government wants to include tourism, passenger travel, and get private companies involved.

This isn’t just transport, the Minister said. It’s a way to grow the economy, increase tourism, and connect better with our neighbors.

Better Tourism, Trade, and Investor Vibes

The new ferry terminal should make investors feel good, both locally and internationally. The government’s showing it’s serious about improving maritime rules and working with private companies.

The Minister also mentioned that some business people want to get ferry service licenses, which is great. This is actually the first time Pakistan has ever issued a ferry license, which shows how important this is.

A Good Move for Connecting the Region

Besides money, the Karachi–Chabahar ferry service helps Pakistan’s position in the region. It allows for culture sharing, religious visits, travel and it can help out coastal communities.

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs is also working on new policies and upgrades to make sure Pakistan makes the most of its sea potential.

    Setting Sail for Growth

The Karachi–Chabahar ferry service is more than just building something new. It shows Pakistan wants to grow sustainably, build relationships with neighbors, and improve its ocean economy.

As the ferries get ready, Pakistan’s sea future is looking good.
