Social Media Stars Rajab and Nadeem Seek Legal Green Light for International Travel
Prominent YouTubers Rajab Butt and Nadeem Naniwala have turned to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in a bid to restore their freedom to travel. Both influencers are currently grounded by government travel restrictions following a string of cybercrime allegations and other legal entanglements. In separate petitions, they argued that their placement on no-fly lists is not only “unjustified” but is actively crippling their professional careers, which often require them to be abroad for content creation and business engagements.
Legal Battle Over “Unjust” No-Fly Restrictions
The petitions, filed by legal counsel Raja Qadeer Janjua and Ahad Khokhar, name the Interior Secretary and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) as primary respondents. The social media personalities are asking the court to issue an immediate order striking their names from the travel-restricted lists. While the IHC is expected to hear the arguments soon, the decision hinges on whether the court views them as a flight risk or if it deems their professional needs significant enough to lift the ban.
Lingering Legal Shadows and Bail Extensions
This latest move comes while both men are still navigating a separate case in Lahore involving the alleged promotion of gambling applications. A Lahore Sessions Court recently extended their interim bail until February 16, 2026, after the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) requested more time to finalize its probe. Despite the travel petitions in Islamabad, the duo remains under the investigative spotlight in Lahore, where authorities are still piecing together the record of their digital activities.
