Saim Ayub Falls Short of Maiden T20I Century Against South Africa

In the second T20I of the three-match series at SuperSport Park in Centurion, South Africa, young Pakistani talent Saim Ayub impressed with a brilliant knock but narrowly missed out on his maiden T20I century.

Pakistan was put to bat first after Mohammad Rizwan won the toss. Despite an early setback with Rizwan’s dismissal, Saim Ayub took charge and displayed remarkable composure. He was joined by Babar Azam, and together they formed a dynamic partnership that helped Pakistan recover and build a strong total.

Even after Babar Azam was dismissed, Ayub remained unfazed, continuing to take on the South African bowlers. His superb innings of 98 came off 55 balls, with 11 boundaries and five sixes, showing his aggressive approach and control. Ayub, who opened the innings, showcased his potential in the T20I format, helping Pakistan reach a total of over 200 runs.

Despite the spectacular effort, Ayub was unable to reach his century. With just two runs needed to reach the landmark, he did not face the ball in the final over of the innings. While disappointed to miss the century, Ayub can take pride in his contribution, putting Pakistan in a strong position for the remainder of the match.
