The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sent an updated list of foreign players to the franchises ahead of the PSL 10 players’ draft, which is now set for January 13. The revised list includes several top international stars, including Australian cricketer Steve Smith, although sources confirm that Smith has declined the invitation to join PSL 10 due to other commitments. Similarly, New Zealand’s Kane Williamson has also turned down the offer, but PCB officials are still trying to persuade him to participate.
In the platinum category, the updated list features players such as Australians David Warner, Matthew Short, Riley Meredith, and Steve Smith (subject to confirmation), along with Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman and England’s Adil Rashid, Chris Woakes, Gus Atkinson, Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Tom Curran, and Tom Kohler-Cadmore. New Zealand’s Finn Allen, Kane Williamson (pending confirmation), and Mark Chapman are also included. Sri Lanka’s Charith Asalanka and West Indies’ Shai Hope are also part of the list. However, Adil Rashid’s participation is yet to be confirmed, and the issue of obtaining No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for English players, including Chris Woakes and Jonny Bairstow, is still being resolved by the PCB.
The PCB is also dealing with Shakib Al Hasan’s participation, as he will only be available as a batter due to his bowling ban. A final updated player list will be released soon.
In addition, the PSL 10 draft has been rescheduled to January 13 in Lahore, after a weather forecast predicted rain, prompting a two-day delay. The venue for the draft has been moved from Gwadar to Lahore’s Bara Dari. Multan Sultans’ owner, Ali Jahangir Tareen, expressed frustration over the rushed decision to choose Gwadar without consulting franchise owners, highlighting issues with communication within the league.
