Shane Watson Unwanted Record in ICC Champions Trophy A Statistic He’d Rather Forget

The ICC Champions Trophy has witnessed many remarkable performances. However, some players have also found themselves setting unwanted records in the tournament. One such record is for the most ducks, a title held by Australia’s former all-rounder Shane Watson. He was dismissed without scoring four times.

Watson, who played 15 innings in the tournament, holds the highest number of ducks in Champions Trophy history. No player has surpassed this.

Bangladesh’s former captain, Habibul Bashar, follows closely behind. He recorded three ducks in just five innings, an unfortunate statistic.

New Zealand’s Nathan Astle also managed three ducks in 15 innings. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s former captain, Shoaib Malik, suffered the same fate.

Malik registered three ducks across 18 innings, matching the unwanted record. Sri Lankan legend Sanath Jayasuriya also had his struggles in the tournament.

Jayasuriya recorded three ducks in 20 innings, making him one of the players with the most ducks in Champions Trophy history.

Most Ducks in ICC Champions Trophy:

    • Shane Watson (Australia) – 4 ducks
    • Habibul Bashar (Bangladesh) – 3 ducks
    • Nathan Astle (New Zealand) – 3 ducks
    • Shoaib Malik (Pakistan) – 3 ducks
    • Sanath Jayasuriya (Sri Lanka) – 3 ducks

While these players have contributed greatly to their teams, this record remains an unfortunate blemish in their Champions Trophy careers.
