ICC Announces Ambassadors for Champions Trophy 2025 as Countdown Begins

With just a week left until the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the Ambassador for Champions Trophy.

Leading the lineup is Pakistan’s 2017 Champions Trophy-winning captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed, joined by Shane Watson (Australia), Shikhar Dhawan (India), and Tim Southee (New Zealand). These cricketing greats will engage with fans through exclusive guest columns, match appearances, and personal insights throughout the event.

The tournament will feature the top eight teams battling for the prestigious white jackets, making for a fiercely competitive showdown. ICC announced these legends as the Ambassador for Champions Trophy 2025.

Sarfaraz Ahmed expressed his excitement about being part of the event, reminiscing about Pakistan’s historic 2017 victory. “Lifting the trophy as Pakistan’s captain was an unforgettable moment. He said, “Watching our nation celebrate that triumph always feels special. I am delighted that this tournament is returning, especially since Pakistan is hosting such a major event.”

Shikhar Dhawan, named Player of the Series in India’s 2013 title-winning campaign, highlighted the intense nature of the competition. “One mistake can end a team’s journey, making every match a high-pressure battle,” he stated.

Tim Southee, renowned for his contributions to New Zealand’s bowling attack, emphasized the tournament’s significance. “Every game, every ball, and every moment matter in the Champions Trophy,” he remarked.

Shane Watson, a two-time Champions Trophy winner with Australia, reflected on the tournament’s rich legacy. “The Champions Trophy has always delivered unforgettable moments. With the best eight teams competing, expect three weeks of thrilling, do-or-die cricket,” he said.

The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 kicks off on February 19, with hosts Pakistan facing New Zealand in the highly anticipated opening match.
