More than 350 guests fell victim in Lahore food poisoning case
A wedding ceremony function turned into a health tragedy in Lahore’s Johar Town when more than 350 guests fell victim to severe meals poisoning after consuming unhygienic food at a marquee in Satto Katla. Wedding Reception Turns into Medical Emergency
The pompous marriage ceremony celebration, organized by means of a resident of Khayaban-i-Amin named Sarfraz, took a tragic turn when guests began feeling vomiting, nausea, and intense stomach ache shortly after consuming the ingredients served at the event. Alarm was raised since over a single emergency calls had been placed, resulting in Rescue 1122 ambulances ferrying the affected individuals to a number of hospitals across the city.
Critical Condition of Some Guests
Although most visitors received therapy at private clinical centers, more than a hundred victims were admitted to government hospitals. Reports indicate that a minimum of 9 people, including female and children, had been in critical condition. The affected friends were referred to Lahore University Hospital, Lahore General Hospital, and Raiwind Indus Hospital for scientific support.
Food Authority Takes Swift Action
After the traumatic incident of Lahore food poisoning case, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) initiated an immediate inquiry. The owner of the marquee, Sheikh Mohammad Javed, had a First Information Report (FIR) submitted against him by a meals protection officer, Arif, subsequent to an investigation that confirmed neglect of hygiene and security protocols. Authorities found poor-quality meals and unhygienic cooking setups, leading to the decision to hold the marquee administration liable for putting people’s health in jeopardy.
Legal Consequences and Investigation
A joint investigation between the police and meal authorities has been launched to also investigate the issue. Police officers proved that all 360 guests had meals poisoning, and this is one of the most severe meals safety cases in recent history. The administration of the marquee is liable for potential felony action for negligence and breaching meal protection laws.
