Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has advised Shaheen Shah Afridi to modify his bowling action. Afridi is currently Pakistan’s leading pace bowler.
During a live TV program, Mohammad Amir pointed out technical flaws in Shaheen’s action. He also shared tips on how to correct them.
Standing on stage, Amir explained Afridi’s mistake in detail. He emphasized that minor adjustments could help him regain his peak form.
Since his injury in the 2022 T20 World Cup, Afridi’s bowling has lost its sharpness. This has weakened Pakistan’s fast-bowling attack significantly.
His dip in performance was especially evident in the Champions Trophy opener against New Zealand. Pakistan conceded 113 runs in the last 10 overs.
The bowlers managed to take only one wicket during that phase. This lack of control has raised concerns about Pakistan’s death bowling.
Former captain Rashid Latif also spoke on the same program. He noted that Afridi performs better against left-handed batsmen due to his natural swing.
However, Afridi struggles to produce the same movement against right-handers. This has affected his effectiveness in crucial match situations.
Latif further suggested that Afridi’s bowling action needs slight modifications. He believes this issue should have been addressed much earlier by coaches.
