Mia Khan, a non-literary laborer father goes through a 12 kilometers motorcycle experience to make sure his daughters receive an education. A Father’s Vision to Break Barriers for his daughter
Despite his own lack of formal education, Mia Khan dreams of a brighter future for his daughters, where possibilities are no longer bound by gender or circumstance. Living in a place where cultural and infrastructural boundaries often bar women from attending school, Mia Khan’s commitment stands as a beacon of hope. “I am illiterate and earn a each day wage, however my daughters’ training is my priority,” he says. “There is no girl physician in our area, and I dream of my daughters filling that gap one day.”
The Daily Ride to Nooraniya School
Every morning, Mia Khan cycles from central Sharana to the Nooraniya School, run by the Swedish Committee for Afghanistan. The ride doesn’t stop when the school day starts. As his daughters, which includes sixth-grader Rozi, attend classes, he waits patiently outside for hours until it’s time to take them back home. His dedication shows the growing awareness and value of education in the community.
Inspiring a Generation
Rozi, one of Mia Khan’s daughters, shares her gratitude and determination. “I am so comfortable to study,” she says with a smile. “My dad or brother takes us to college each day and brings us back.
