After the Motorway Police (MP) made their announcement early Wednesday morning, many parts of the highway were closed because of heavy fog that made it impossible to see. In Punjab, the M2 route from Lahore to Hiran Minar and from Lahore to Jaranwala has been affected. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), the M1 route from Peshawar to Rashakai has also been affected. Because of this, the limits will stay in place until further notice.
Officials from the Motorway Police Department strongly advised that people not drive when it was dark. People who had to travel were told to drive during the day, especially between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., when sight is best.
Due to which, it is recommended to the people who are driving are highly told to use their front and back lights, stay far enough away from other cars to be safe, and stay aware at all times. It is possible for drivers to get in touch with the Department of Motorway Police in an emergency by calling their hotline at (130).
