Karachi Literature Festival 2026 Is Happening In February’2026

Big opportunity for writers, thinkers, and filmmakers at Pakistan Biggest Book Bash Karachi Literature Festival 2026

It feels like the world’s getting more divided every day, what with all the fighting, worrying about the climate, and different cultures clashing. But books can still bring people together. That’s what the Karachi Literature Festival is all about. The 17th KLF is happening February 6-8. Literature in a Fragile World.

KLF is Pakistan’s biggest and best book event. It turns Karachi into a place where people share ideas, tell stories, and talk about what’s important. And it’s free for everyone.

    Why Words Still Count

This year’s theme is all about what’s going on now. Politics are a mess, people can’t agree on anything, and cultures are changing fast. The festival wants to find out how books help when things are so uncertain.

Stories, poems, and essays do more than just sound good. Literature helps us understand each other, stand up for what we believe in, and make sense of the world. The KLF will look at how writers are using words to challenge old ideas, protect what’s important, and imagine a better future.

Arshad Saeed Husain from Oxford University Press Pakistan put it well. He said books are one of the few places left where people can speak to itself without fear.

Lots of Voices, Local and from Away

Oxford University Press Pakistan is putting on the festival. Over three days, they’re bringing in over 200 people from eight countries. You’ll hear all sorts of opinions and stories. There will be over 90 talks about books, politics, history, gender, the media, and culture.

Plus, they’re launching 28 books in three languages, which shows how many languages are part of Pakistan’s culture. They are also showing a couple of documentaries and movies to help with the conversations.

    Some Really Great Speakers

The KLF 2026 is bringing in some awesome speakers. You’ll hear from Senator Sherry Rehman, Mohammed Hanif, Nasir Abbas Nayyar, and Khurshid Rizvi. They’re all smart people who aren’t afraid to talk about tough stuff.

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will be there too. She’s won two Oscars and is known for her amazing documentaries. She’s even directing the upcoming *Ms. Marvel* movie.

You’ll also get to see poets, novelists, critics, historians, and filmmakers from Pakistan and other countries. It’s going to be a great mix of people and ideas.

KLF is more than just a festival

The KLF is more than just a festival. It’s a place where people can talk, question things, and be free to think for themselves. In a world that feels kind of crazy, the festival reminds us that books don’t just show us what’s happening, they help us change it.

By bringing different people together, the KLF 2026 shows that we can still talk to each other and that we need to.

The KLF 2026 is free and open to everyone. Students, readers, writers, anyone who’s curious is welcome. Come be part of the conversation.
