It wasn’t till another kidnapped boy, who Asif considered an older brother, shared his secret with him, that the truth began to unfold.

    Villagers of Jhanoria began noticing that Asif did not look like his alleged family. Suspicion grew, and the kidnapping household fled the village. At the age of nine or 10, Asif escaped and, in a stroke of luck, found shelter with a sympathetic lawyer who adopted him, brought him up, and sent him to school.

    Even though Asif verified minimal leisure activity in studies, he found a transition becoming an electrician. He got married in 2017 and built a life for himself, even purchasing a home using his own funds.

    A Chance Encounter and the Power of Social Media

    The real turning point in Asif’s lives arrived at a goldsmithing outlet. There, he opened up before a stranger about his aspiration all through his life to find out his real parents. That stranger introduced him to Waliullah Maroof, a social worker who is known to reunite missing men and women with their families through social media.
