Playboi Carti Steals the Show at Rolling Loud Miami, Teases New Album
Playboi Carti lit up the stage at Rolling Loud Miami’s 10th-anniversary festival on December 15, giving fans a first look at his highly anticipated album I AM MUSIC. Closing out the event, Carti wowed the crowd with his bold, evolving sound, proving why he remains a leading force in modern hip-hop.
As the rapper debuted new tracks like “Drugs Got Me Numb” (produced by Metro Boomin) and another song by F1LTHY, his DJ announced, “I AM MUSIC is here.” Fans watching on Twitch and Amazon Music erupted in excitement. DJ Akademiks shared his reaction on X, saying, “We witnessing history… Playboi Carti headlining a whole festival and previewing new music, not even relying on hits. This n**a Goated.”
While the unreleased tracks stole the show, Carti also treated fans to popular songs like “Type Sh*t” with Future and Metro Boomin, “Rockstar Made” from Whole Lotta Red, and “Timeless,” his collaboration with The Weeknd and Madonna. He even performed “KETAMINE,” a song from I AM MUSIC. To top it off, Carti added a unique twist by performing part of his set upside down, taking his theatricality to the next level.
I AM MUSIC, Carti’s first album in four years, has fans buzzing since it was announced in January. Described as a featureless project and produced by Ye, the album marks a major creative shift for Carti. Rolling Loud co-founder Tariq Cherif noted Carti’s long history with the festival, having performed at nearly every edition since its launch.
