PTI Sounds the Alarm After Clash With State Power Against Imran Khan Sisters

PTI condemned the alleged State Brutality against the Imran Khan Sisters and announced the observance of a nationwide black day on Friday!

A new chapter in the already tense political climate of Pakistan unfolded this week outside the Adiala Jail, where PTI leaders and supporters said they were met with state-inflicted force and intimidation. What began as a peaceful show of solidarity reportedly spiralled into chaos, reigniting debate over constitutional freedoms and the growing distance between the state and political opposition.

PTI Sounds the Alarm After Clash With State Power Against Imran Khan Sisters

A Grave Accusation Against the State

On Wednesday, the PTI issued a strong condemnation of what it termed as “state brutality” against the sisters of Imran Khan, namely Aleema Khan, Uzma Khan, and Noreen, along with the lawyers and party workers who got together outside the prison. The party accused the “tyrannical regime” of deploying extremist measures to silence dissent, calling the incident “unacceptable, unlawful, and a stain on democratic norms.”

In a heated press conference, sisters of Imran Khan described scenes of panic and confrontation. Aleema Khan claimed there was a targeted attack by police personnel on women, including the 71-year-old Noreen, whom she said was pushed and manhandled. The emotional testimony resonated across political lines and stirred debate on how far state institutions should—or should not—go when controlling political gatherings.

PTI Announces Black Day Throughout the Country

PTI has announced the observance of a nationwide black day on Friday, asking citizens to rise in defence of what it terms “haqeeqi azadi”—true freedom. The protest, the party said, is not just about a single incident but part of a larger struggle for the restoration of the Constitution, the rule of law, and democratic safeguards eroding over time.

The PTI leadership reiterated that peaceful resistance is a constitutional right and accused the authorities of ‘ weaponizing state machinery to create an environment of fear ‘. Lawyers, women activists, and party members seconded this view, stating that the incident outside Adiala Jail reflects a dangerous precedent.

    Opposition Alliances Step Forward

The political fallout went well beyond the inner circle of PTI. Supporters from Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) and the Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz Aeen Pakistan (TTAP) joined the chorus of condemnation, calling the use of force “a direct attack on democratic participation.”

Political leaders Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Abbas claimed that resistance against oppression was a collective national responsibility. “The nation must now decide,” Achakzai said, “whether it stands with freedom—or with silence.” Their remarks added fuel to an already heated debate, underscoring a growing inter-party unity against state coercion.

    A Battle for Public Perception

The incident has divided the political and social spheres into contrasting narratives. For PTI, the clash represented a watershed moment-a brazen attempt to squash dissent altogether. So far, there has been no word of explanation from government functionaries, which has left the public with a number of unanswered questions.

Analysts argue that such incidents tend to galvanize rather than suppress political movements. Images and reports of altercations outside Adiala have already started circulating widely, strengthening PTI’s portrayal of a struggle between oppression and resilience.

With a countrywide black day observed on Friday, the political climate in Pakistan remains charged. Whether the incident at Adiala Jail becomes a turning point—or simply another entry in Pakistan’s turbulent political narrative—remains to be seen.

One thing is evident, however: the clash has deepened the national discussion on rights, resistance, and limits to state power.
