Babar Azam Requests Fans to Stop Calling Him “King”
Pakistani cricket star Babar Azam has requested fans to stop calling him “King.” He believes he has yet to earn that title.
Speaking after Pakistan’s victory against South Africa in the Tri-Nation Series, Babar shared his thoughts on his batting performance. He said that every time he steps in to bat, his focus remains on scoring well. Unfortunately, he admitted that he has struggled to finish games.
Babar praised Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha for their brilliant performance. He mentioned that such contributions help build confidence within the team. He further emphasized, “Stop calling me King. I am not a king yet.”

He explained that opening the innings is a new role for him, taken on as per the team’s requirements. Once he settles in, he understands the game better. He also gains a clearer idea about the pitch conditions.
His goal is always to play well, but he has been unable to convert good starts into big innings. He constantly reflects on ways to improve. “What I did in the past is history.”
Babar stated that if he keeps thinking about previous performances, he won’t be able to perform in future matches. He believes in having a fresh plan. A new mindset for every match is crucial for success.
