Those Who Made Salman Agha Captain Deserve a Nobel Prize – Basit Ali

Former Pakistani cricketer Basit Ali has made a bold statement. He said that whoever appointed Salman Agha as captain and Shadab as vice-captain deserves a Nobel Prize. While speaking on ARY News’ Champions Trophy Special Show, Basit Ali criticized the decision. He questioned the people making such choices for the national team. “What more can I say about those playing with this country?” he added.

Meanwhile, former cricketer Kamran Akmal also shared his thoughts. He pointed out that making Shaheen Afridi captain and then removing him was not a wise decision. “When Shaheen was made captain and later replaced, I said back then that no one becomes a great captain after just five matches,” he explained.

Akmal further discussed Mohammad Rizwan’s leadership. He emphasized that Rizwan had only captained in T20 matches but couldn’t secure wins. “If Salman Agha has been appointed as captain just for the New Zealand tour, then it’s understandable,” Akmal stated. “However, if this is a long-term decision, then it’s not a good one.”

Both former players expressed their concerns over Pakistan’s leadership choices. Their comments highlight the ongoing debate regarding the team’s captaincy. Many experts believe stability is crucial for long-term success. Frequent changes in leadership can affect team morale and performance.
