    Fire Erupts in Saddar’s Ghariyali Building, Swift Response Prevents Tragedy upon Karachi Saddar area fire

    In a dramatic flip of events, a furnace broke out in Karachi’s Saddar place at the Ghariyali Building, engulfing the 1/3 flooring and swiftly spreading to the top levels. The incident, which befell in a bustling business zone, had authorities on excessive alert as firefighting groups rushed to the scene.

    Firefighting services, including more than one firefighting crew and a snorkel, engaged the raging fire for more than an hour and half. Instantaneous response contributed to the successful rescue of 5 people trapped inside the building. No reported casualties.

    Warehouses Wiped Out, Losses Unspecified

    The affected flooring mainly housed garment warehouses, which suffered good sized damage. While the specific economic toll is but to be determined, the destruction is anticipated to be substantial.

    Investigations Underway

    Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. The motive of the hearth remains unknown, even though officers have pointed to a growing trend of fires during the winter months. This fire comes close on the heels of similar incidents at Pak Towers and Rimpa Plaza, both of which are also under investigation.
    A stark reminder of the importance of fire safety

    The Saddar hearth serves as a stark reminder of the significance of furnace security and preparedness, specifically in densely packed city centers. As investigations proceed, Karachi’s residents and corporations are advised to take proactive measures to stop such occurrences.

    DIG-South Javed Akbar Riaz said that since the fire was classified as a third-degree fire, the police cordoned off the Cooperative Market in Saddar to stop theft or injury to property.

    He said no one was once damage in the fire. He further said that the cause of the fire was not known yet.

    Preedy SHO Sajjad Khan said that in round 18-20 hearth engines belonging to the fireplace brigade branch of the KMC and different establishments managed to handle the flames.
    Some shopkeepers allege that the hearth engines reached the scene about an hour late.
