Pakistani-Origin British Citizen Arrested with Drugs at Peshawar Airport

At Peshawar Airport, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized over 10 kilograms of drugs from a Pakistani-origin British citizen. During a routine operation, ANF officials discovered 10.6 kilograms of hashish hidden inside the suspect’s trolley bag. The drugs were concealed in boxes to evade detection. The suspect, traveling from Peshawar to London via Doha, was arrested, and investigations are ongoing under the Control of Narcotic Substances (CNS) Act. Drug smugglers often use modern methods, including air routes, to traffic illegal substances.

This incident follows a similar event last week, when a French national arriving from India was apprehended with a significant quantity of drugs. The individual was caught at Islamabad International Airport, where ANF officers recovered 1.58 kilograms of hashish concealed in chocolate packaging. The suspect had traveled to Pakistan on a visit visa and was on his way to Sri Lanka via Muscat. ANF continues to conduct nationwide operations to combat drug trafficking.

In another case, the Airport Security Force (ASF) at Islamabad International Airport foiled an attempt to smuggle 1.3 kilograms of crystal meth. The suspect, Muhammad Jan, was bound for Doha when ASF officers discovered suspicious items during a routine inspection. Upon further examination, 1.332 kilograms of crystal meth were found inside a vest packed in the suspect’s luggage. The drugs were confiscated, and the suspect was arrested.

Earlier in November, ANF intercepted a Brazilian woman at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, attempting to smuggle 1.396 kilograms of cocaine hidden in her undergarments. The woman, arriving on a flight from Brazil, was arrested after the narcotics were found during a search. These operations reflect ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking and ensure security at Pakistani airports.
