The Sindh Education Department is making private schools to give Free Education to 10% of students
Something big just happened: The Sindh Education Department told all private schools they have to give free education to at least 10% of their students. This comes after a ruling by the Sindh High Court in Sukkur, which backs up a law from 2013 that wasn’t really being followed. It’s called the Sindh Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act.
Lots of people think this is a game-changer for kids from poor families who couldn’t afford good schools before.
What the Law Says – And Why It’s Important Now
That law from 2013 says private schools have to take some students without charging them anything. But for over ten years, it wasn’t really enforced.
Now, the court ruling makes it clear: Schools have to do it. The education department is saying that schools need to actually prove they’re giving free education in Sindh private schools, like the law says.
This shows the government is serious about making the law actually make a difference.

New Rules to Make Sure It Happens
To make sure everyone knows what’s going on, the Sindh Education Department is asking for some paperwork. Schools need to hand in:
- Vouchers showing they aren’t charging those students
- Proof that those students are signed up
- Reports from the right people saying they’re following the rules
The big thing is that private schools won’t be able to get their licenses renewed unless they show they’re giving free education to enough students. That makes it a pretty big deal for the schools.
Education Bosses Will Be Responsible
The department is even saying that education directors will be in trouble if schools in their area don’t follow the rules. That means the people in charge have to make sure this actually happens.
They’re saying they’ll take action against schools that don’t do what they’re supposed to, which sends a strong signal to all the private schools in Sindh.
A Chance for Families Who Need It
It’s not just about rules and paperwork. This is about helping people. A lot of families can’t afford private school because things are so expensive these days. And sometimes, the public schools are too crowded or don’t have enough resources.
By making private schools offer free education in Sindh, the government is giving kids a chance to get a better education who wouldn’t have had that chance otherwise. That helps everyone in the long run.
It Won’t Be Easy, But It’s a Good Start
People are happy about this, but experts say it’s going to be important to keep an eye on things and make sure the right students are getting picked. If things aren’t done fairly, some kids who deserve the help might miss out.
Still, it’s a step in the right direction – it puts kids’ education first.
An Important Time for Education in Sindh
This is a big moment for education in Sindh. The province is really trying to fix the problem of unequal education.
If this is done right, it could be an example for other places and help Pakistan make sure all kids get the education they deserve.
