Imran Khan Denounces Social Media Propaganda

Imran Khan, the founder and former chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has strongly condemned the social media propaganda targeting Arab nations and distanced himself from accounts spreading such content. In a meeting with Khan in jail, his lawyer, Faisal Chaudhry, revealed that the PTI leader expressed his disapproval of the online smear campaign. Khan clarified that he rejects any social media accounts that propagate false narratives about Arab countries, his wife Bushra Bibi, or martyrs. He emphasized that these accounts have no connection to PTI or its members, stressing that such actions do not reflect the party’s official stance.

Khan also voiced concerns over the exclusion of PTI’s negotiating committee from key meetings, calling it an attempt to derail peace talks. Chaudhry further shared that Imran Khan had established a committee under the leadership of Qazi Anwar to address the issue of missing persons. The committee is expected to finalize its report by Sunday. In addition, Khan had filed a petition in court regarding his jail conditions, which resulted in the approval for him to make calls to his children, access medical care, and receive books.

Imran Khan directed PTI to continue its efforts on the missing persons issue, reiterating that his legal cases are not part of the ongoing negotiation discussions. He also expressed his support for negotiations centered on Pakistan’s national issues and voiced confidence in the government’s negotiation team. Khan’s actions demonstrate his commitment to resolving critical national matters, even while in detention, while distancing himself from online narratives that do not align with PTI’s principles.
