The Atlanta artist made the announcement during his sold-out birthday concert in December, marking his return more than two years after his third album, It’s Only Me. Ahead of the release, Baby kept fans excited by teasing singles like “5 AM” and “Insecurities,” both co-produced by Wheezy.
On December 20, 2024, the rapper unveiled the official cover art and tracklist for WHAM via Instagram, revealing 15 songs and several high-profile collaborations. Featured artists on the album include Young Thug, GloRilla, Rylo, 21 Savage, and Future. Lil Baby had previously hinted at Future’s involvement, sharing on X that he believed 21 Savage delivered his “hardest verse ever” on the album.
A notable absence from WHAM was Lil Baby’s former collaborator, Gunna. Rumors of a falling out between the two emerged in 2023 after Gunna accepted a plea deal in the YSL RICO case involving Young Thug. Fans speculated that Lil Baby referenced Gunna in his 2023 track “350,” where he raps, “Ain’t never say nothin’ ‘bout it, n***a, you know you a rat.” In a recent interview with Charlamagne Tha God, Lil Baby confirmed that the two are no longer on good terms.
WHAM is now available for streaming on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify, but Lil Baby isn’t stopping there. During an appearance on Lil Yachty’s A Safe Place podcast, he revealed plans to release another album, Dominique, later in 2025. He explained that WHAM reflects his “turnt” lifestyle, while Dominique will showcase a more serious, personal side of his journey, offering fans a deeper look into his life.
