Mahira Khan, the renowned actor from Pakistan, disclosed that Indian director Sanjay Leela Bhansali expressed interest in featuring her in his popular Netflix series Heeramandi 15 years ago.
Mahira Khan, who expressed her admiration for Bhansali’s work, disclosed that her childhood companion was getting married in Bombay and that Moin Baig, the individual who devised the concept, was in Pakistan seeking actors during an interview with BBC Asian Network’s Haroon Rashid. Khan, who was employed as a video jockey at the time, was recommended by her acquaintance, who was meeting with designer Rizwan Baig to discuss wedding attire.
A last-minute encounter with Bhansali occurred during the actor’s visit to India. The two engaged in a conversation, and Khan disclosed that the director was exceedingly enthusiastic about her participation in the project, which was originally intended to be a film. Nevertheless, she was unable to participate in the series as a result of the political tensions between India and Pakistan.
The Bol actor mentioned that she encountered Bhansali later on while working on Raees, her Bollywood début, alongside Shah Rukh Khan.

Matrimony with Salim Karim
Khan addressed her marriage to Salim Karim, stating that she was a “snob” regarding males prior to meeting her spouse. However, she expressed her satisfaction with not settling down.
“I believe that I developed feelings for the individual that he is.” She continued to express her fondness for individuals prior to him, but she promptly clarified that she did not “really, actually” like them.
“However, I recall meeting Salim and feeling as though I would marry him.” Nevertheless, the actor insisted that she refrained from marrying him for an extended period of time due to her apprehension.
