Mohsin Naqvi Denies Attendance at Alleged Anti-China Event During US Visit
Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has firmly denied claims that he attended an “anti-China” event during his recent trip to the United States. Addressing the media in Houston, Naqvi dismissed the allegations as baseless propaganda, asserting that he had no involvement in any gathering opposing China. “I did not attend any anti-China event, nor was I part of such an initiative,” he clarified.
Speculations surfaced on social media and in certain news outlets suggesting that Naqvi had participated in an event linked to a lobbying group critical of China’s ruling Communist Party. In response, Naqvi explained that he had attended a function organized by Gunster Strategies Worldwide, a public relations firm based in the U.S., but insisted that the event was not targeted against China in any way.
“They can spread as much propaganda as they want. It makes no difference,” Naqvi stated, emphasizing his commitment to Pakistan-China relations.
During his trip, Naqvi engaged in meetings with U.S. lawmakers and other officials to discuss various matters. He expressed satisfaction with these discussions but highlighted a concerning trend: individuals lobbying against Pakistan and its interests.
“Some people are poisoning the minds of Congress members and senators against Pakistan. This is nothing short of enmity against the country,” he remarked. Naqvi urged such individuals to prioritize Pakistan’s welfare and avoid actions that could harm the nation.
Naqvi also shed light on the pressing issue of terrorism, which was a major focus of his U.S. visit. He stressed the need for global cooperation to tackle the rising threat of terrorism, stating, “This is not just Pakistan’s fight—it’s a shared challenge for the international community.” He reaffirmed Pakistan’s stance to confront any group or individual taking up arms against the state.
China remains one of Pakistan’s closest allies, with significant investments in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) underscoring their strong ties. Naqvi’s clarification serves to reaffirm Pakistan’s unwavering support for China and dismiss any rumors suggesting otherwise.
As the Punjab caretaker chief minister wrapped up his U.S. visit, he reiterated his focus on fostering international cooperation and protecting Pakistan’s interests on the global stage.
