Miftah Ismail, leader of the Awaam Pakistan Party, subtly criticized the current government after Muzammil Aslam, the Finance Advisor to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Minister, claimed that, despite signing several Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with various countries, the government had successfully finalized only the agreement with Saudi Arabia’s Albaik fast-food chain in Pakistan.
During a television appearance, Aslam criticized the government, asking, “If Pakistan has made so much progress, how much Foreign Direct Investment has actually come into the country?”

Earlier, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan had stated in Jeddah that Albaik would be opening outlets in major Pakistani cities. He also met Albaik’s owner, Rami Abu Ghazala. Media reports indicated that the Saudi food giant’s plans to launch in Pakistan were in the final stages after signing an MOU.
Kamal praised the contributions of Pakistani workers in Saudi businesses like Albaik and welcomed the brand’s expansion into Pakistan, suggesting it could benefit the country’s fast food industry and consumer market.

Additionally, Kamal met with Pakistani investors and business leaders in Jeddah, acknowledging their impact on Saudi Arabia’s economy. He noted that over the past five years, 1.7 million Pakistanis had moved to Saudi Arabia, making it the leading destination for Pakistani emigrants.
Tarar pointed out that Pakistan’s global economic position was improving, with allied nations looking to expand investments, including Qatar’s $3 billion investment plan and Azerbaijan’s $2 billion contribution.
