    Pakistan clears passport backlog viz New 24/7 services launched

    Pakistan clears passport backlog, it achieved a giant milestone

    Pakistan has achieved a giant milestone with the help of formally clearing its long-standing passport backlog. Mustafa Jamal Qazi, the Director General of Immigration and Passports, validated the improvement for the duration of a shock inspection of the manufacturing unit.

    The match was earlier attended with the help of Nadra Chairman Lieutenant General Muhammad Munir Afsar, Chief Commissioner of Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, and IG of Islamabad Police Ali Nasir Rizvi.

    DG of Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi also appreciated the changes, saying that they had been in line with the minister’s vision of excellence in public service. The minister referred to his latest visits to passport and Nadra centres in Lahore and Karachi, where people expressed satisfaction with the enhanced services.

    Record Numbers in Passport Issuance

    Since July 1, a whole of 3,376,510 passports have been printed. The breakdown includes:

    • 776,451 regular class passports
    • 1,896,403 pressing passports
    • 703,656 fast-track passports

    This massive satisfaction is a testament to the hard work of the production team, as appreciated by Mustafa Jamal Qazi, who commended their tireless efforts in clearing delays. Citizens who have been waiting for their passports are now advised to collect them from their respective regional passport offices, as deliveries have been made.

    Transformative step with New 24/7 Passport Services

    In some other transformative step, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the newly mounted Passport and Immigration Headquarters alongside with the Islamabad Regional Passport Office. These services are now imparting 24/7 services, making sure round the clock help to the public.

    Plans are afoot to bring 24/7 passport services to NADRA mega facilities in 14 cities. These efforts will further streamline the process of passport issuance and minimize wait times for citizens across Pakistan.

    A Step Towards Efficiency and Convenience

    These improvements have put new demands on Pakistan’s Immigration and Passports Department for efficiency and delivery of service, while reinforcing its commitment to public convenience.
