Pakistan Ranked Among Weakest Passports in 2025 Henley Index

Pakistan has once again found itself among the countries with the weakest passports, according to the Henley Passport Index for the first half of 2025. This index, published by Henley & Partners, ranks passports based on the number of destinations their holders can visit without the need for a visa.

At the top of the index is Singapore, which holds the strongest passport, offering visa-free access to 195 countries. Japan follows closely in second place, with its passport providing visa-free entry to 193 nations. Countries like South Korea, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Finland are ranked third, as their passports grant visa-free access to 192 countries.

In the fourth tier, Austria, Denmark, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden, and the Netherlands share a ranking, each providing access to 191 countries. Belgium, Portugal, New Zealand, Switzerland, and the UK take the fifth spot, allowing their passport holders to visit 190 countries without a visa.

Australia and Greece are in sixth place with access to 189 countries, while Canada, Malta, and Poland share the seventh position, offering visa-free travel to 188 destinations.

However, Pakistan is listed among the weakest passports in the world, sharing the 103rd position with Yemen. Pakistani passport holders have access to only 33 countries without a visa, placing it lower than several other nations such as Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan, which are ranked 104th, 105th, and 106th respectively. Pakistan is ranked just below Somalia, Nepal, Palestine, and Bangladesh, with Somalia at the 102nd spot.

Other countries in comparison include India at 85th, China at 60th, and Iran at 96th. Saudi Arabia’s passport ranks 58th in the latest index. This ranking highlights the challenges faced by Pakistani passport holders in terms of global mobility.
