Senator Faisal Vawda stated on Thursday that following January 20, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will adopt a more conciliatory approach, while the government will continue to take a firm stance in discussions. Speaking on a private TV program, the former federal minister pointed out that if Imran Khan faces a conviction, PTI would strongly criticize the government’s actions. He also emphasized the necessity of putting an end to the use of the “religious card” in political dealings.
Vawda went on to clarify that Bushra Bibi is currently in charge of handling PTI’s internal matters. He dismissed rumors about a meeting between PTI’s Ali Amin Gandapur and the army chief, calling them completely unfounded and without basis.
According to Vawda, he expects that meaningful negotiations will start after January 20. He suggested that PTI would shift its tone to one of negotiation and reconciliation, hoping to open a dialogue with the government. The Senator’s remarks indicate that while PTI plans to engage in talks, the government is likely to keep a tough position.
This statement reflects the current political dynamics in Pakistan, where PTI, under the leadership of Imran Khan and internal leadership from figures like Bushra Bibi, aims to chart a course that balances both confrontation and cooperation. Vawda’s comments also underline the ongoing political tensions in the country, with PTI looking ahead to the potential legal and political developments that may unfold in the coming weeks.
