Ronaldo Shines as Al Nassr Seeks Recovery

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first goal of the year and Al Nassr’s second in their Saudi Pro League match against Al Okhdood, just three minutes before halftime. This goal helped Al Nassr regain the lead, following Sadio Mane’s earlier strike. Al Okhdood had opened the scoring early, just six minutes into the match, putting pressure on the home team. However, Al Nassr, playing in front of their fans, gradually gained control, creating more chances. They even had a goal disallowed due to a foul. Mane found the net again in the 29th minute, after a well-coordinated play.

Ronaldo’s goal was his 11th in the Saudi Pro League this season. In 2024, the Portuguese star has been in fine form, scoring 36 goals in 39 appearances for Al Nassr. This goal also adds to his all-time tally, which now stands at an incredible 917 goals in his professional career.

Despite a tough start to the season, Al Nassr is determined to bounce back. Before the match, they were sitting in fourth place in the league, 11 points behind leaders Al Ittihad. Ronaldo, however, has made his ambitions clear. At almost 40, he remains focused on winning titles with Al Nassr. He recently stated, “Al Nassr will try to win more titles. The Champions League is something I would dream to win for the club, as well as the league. But the most important thing is to keep pushing and be professional.”

Al Nassr’s next match is set for January 17 against Al Taawoun. The team will also return to Champions League action in February, where Ronaldo and his teammates aim to qualify for the Round of 16.
