All Schools Reopen in Punjab, with the exception of Lahore and Multan.
In light of a decrease in smog levels attributed to a shift in wind speed and direction, the Punjab government has announced that all schools and colleges across the province will reopen starting tomorrow, with the exception of the Lahore and Multan divisions.
Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh, the Director General of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), signed the notification stating that schools cannot open before 8:45 AM.
The notification stated that the educational institution will continue to enforce the ban on all outdoor and extracurricular activities, and that all students, teachers, and staff members must wear facemasks.
In a similar vein, it was stated that there would be distinct schedules for the conclusion of classes to help prevent traffic congestion.
The provincial government has mandated that school administrations must ensure the implementation of precautionary measures.
Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Monday that the seriousness of the situation forced the government to make some difficult decisions. “The education of children holds significant importance.” However, we absolutely cannot make any compromises when it comes to their health.
The Rawalpindi Division’s schools are about to reopen.
All educational institutions in the Rawalpindi Division will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, due to the recent improvement in smog conditions.
Earlier today, the Rawalpindi Division released a notification regarding the reopening of both private and public schools across all four districts.
The notification states that educational activities will resume in Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, and Chakwal starting tomorrow.
All private and government educational institutions will reopen on November 19, according to the notification.
The improvement in the air quality index led to the decision.
The previous notification stated that there would be holidays through November 24.
