Starting out
Tayyab was born in Thoon, near Sarai Alamgir, Pakistan. He played tape ball cricket; however, he transitioned to professional cricket in 2007 at the age of 14. Encouraged by his uncle and father, he moved to Lahore. He joined the P&T Gymkhana cricket club and played with Abdul Razzaq.
