Imran Khan Sets 7-Day Deadline for Judicial Commission

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has instructed his party’s negotiation team to suspend dialogue with the government if a judicial commission is not established within seven days. This was revealed by Barrister Gohar while speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail.

Gohar emphasized that the formation of a judicial commission is essential for meaningful and productive negotiations. “If the government does not proceed with forming the commission, there is no point in continuing negotiations,” he asserted.

He also criticized Irfan Siddiqui, spokesperson for the government’s negotiation committee, for impeding progress. Gohar accused Siddiqui of escalating minor issues into significant obstacles, urging him to avoid politicizing discussions centered on law and order.

The PTI’s demand for a judicial commission stems from its commitment to ensuring accountability and transparency. “Imran Khan has made it clear that further dialogue will only happen if the commission is formed within the deadline,” Gohar stated. He added that the government’s hesitancy to embrace transparency indicates discomfort with PTI’s demands.

Referring to the government as the “Form 47 government,” Gohar suggested that their reluctance to establish the commission undermines trust in their intentions. He called on the ruling coalition to prioritize the country’s interests and engage in meaningful dialogue. “Successful negotiations mean success for Pakistan,” he said, advocating for patience and understanding in the process.

Gohar also addressed rumors about official invitations from former U.S. President Donald Trump for his inauguration, clarifying that such matters are managed by his campaign committee and not through government channels.

The PTI’s firm stance underscores its determination to ensure accountability while remaining open to constructive dialogue for the nation’s progress.
