PCB to Pay $100,000 Bonus to Six High-Profile Foreign Players in PSL 10

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced an additional payment of $100,000 to six elite foreign players. Participating in the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

According to the Press Trust of India, this additional payment will come from a special fund set aside by PCB. Previously, during the PSL draft, the board had set a minimum price of $200,000 for each foreign player.

A PSL official revealed that the league’s governing council had decided a few years ago to allocate $500,000 annually. For elite players once the net broadcast revenue from the central pool reached PKR 3 billion. Last year, this fund remained unused, allowing it to accumulate to $1 million. Which will now be utilized for these payments.

The PCB intends to use this fund to support payments for certain elite players who signed contracts during the players’ draft.

The list of foreign players participating in PSL 10 includes prominent names. Such as David Warner, Daryl Mitchell, Kane Williamson, Corbin Bosch, Michael Bracewell, Rassie van der Dussen, Finn Allen, Matthew Short, Sean Abbott, Naveed Rana, and Litton Das.

This is the first time the PSL and the Indian Premier League (IPL) are scheduled to overlap during the same time frame. Both leagues will clash during their final stages, with PSL running from April 17 to May 22, while IPL will take place from March 21 to the end of May.

It is worth noting that during the recent PSL 10 draft ceremony held in Lahore. Karachi Kings signed David Warner for the highest price of $300,000 (approximately PKR 83.6 million).

Previously, the highest-paid players in the PSL were Kieron Pollard ($250,000) and AB de Villiers ($230,000).
