    Bringing back Youth to the Farms

    Medicine, engineering, IT and now social media influencing. Ever heard a child say they want to be a farmer? Probably not. Farming, a high-effort and low-income profession, has become one of the most neglected career paths. Pakistan’s agriculture sector is suffering badly. While natural disasters certainly play a role, the lack of modernization and awareness is dragging it down even further.
    Sounds cool? Good. Because Pakistan’s fields aren’t just drying up from climate change they’re facing a youth drought. Farming is still seen as waking up at 5 a.m. and ploughing fields. But what if it looked more like flying drones over crops, analyzing soil health through sensors, and using artificial intelligence to boost yields?
    We’ve always been seen as an agricultural state so it’s time the youth started giving back to it.
    We’re walking around like zombies, glued to our screens. So why not use those screens to amplify agriculture?

    Imagine a Tick tokers creating content on smart irrigation teaching people how modern farming works and how it can actually be profitable.
    Or social media influencers should enlighten people on greenhouse effect and incorporating smart ways to produce organic produce.
    Some health campaigns should be initiated and incentivized if someone has a vision for ways to enhance the agri culture they would be facilitated.

    Agriculture is the backbone of any country. Sectors like food processing, textiles, and exports are directly linked to agriculture. Most of the community in Pakistan is rural, with livelihood dependent on agriculture. So, a progressing sector would impact their living standards. Relying on strong agriculture would reduce our imports, making us a more resilient, self-reliant nation. It’s high time to engage in informational and engaging content by visiting farms and interviewing people.
    Small videos on hydroponics, farm-to-table journeys, and smart irrigation methods. Over 64% of Pakistanis youth is under the age of 30 and 29%of youth falling between the ages of 15 to 29 years.
    Awareness campaigns on not wasting food and make sure your plate is clean should started.
    These young minds aren’t just the future, they’re the game changers who can spark a revolution in Pakistan’s agriculture.
